Citywind Cowl Style Guide
When I set out to design the Citywind Cowl, I wanted more than just another autumn/winter accessory—I aimed to design a piece that felt cozy and effortlessly stylish. I envisioned a knit that seamlessly fit into a wardrobe with a cohesive feel, even on rushed mornings, and versatile enough for a coffee date, a stroll through a seasonal holiday market, or a snowy afternoon spent journaling by the fire.
The Citywind Cowl became all of that and more— a knit accessory for the minimalist maker on-the-go, and an ode to seasonal urban weather. I knit this in wool ease, a worsted-weight versatile yarn that is made flat on the bias and then seamed, with garter stitch, slip stitch, and I-Cord edging.
This seasonal accessory embraces easeful making and quick knitting for a minimal and modern wearable that is perfect for city days amongst the winds.
The Citywind Cowl may be my most successful pattern release this year, and I am so proud of my design, inspiration, and standout yarn choice for it. Citywind and Wool-Ease offer a lovely nod to natural fibers and texture that move and flow like easeful wind.
With just two skeins of yarn required, it’s the perfect weekend project or thoughtful gift idea, and I love that it is featured in Lion Brand’s 2024 last minute gift collection. I also love wool-ease for its:
Cozy Wool Blend as it combines the warmth of wool with the durability of acrylic. The wool content offers luxury and softness, while the acrylic ensures it’s easy to care for and wear resistant.
Affordability and Accessibility for knitters on a budget as this yarn is price approachable at 6.00 per skein with high-quality results in an array of hues.
Stitch Definition is 10/10 and I love how it brings out texture, offering a polished look of knits and purls.
Easy Care as your finished cowl can be machine washed on a gentle cycle.
I had so much fun putting together the Citywind Cowl style guide & carousel below in hopes that we embrace our unique style that tells our story. I adore how this cowl emits all the cozy vibes and perfectly pairs with the citydream sweater.
I resonate most with the urban minamalist, but also see bits of myself in artistic explorer, cozy adventurer, confident romantic, and downtown rebel!
