Northknits is an online knitwear brand by Jewell Washington focused on modern knitting patterns, seasonal layering, and creating handmade pieces designed for everyday wear.

Inspired by city life, feel good routines, and the comfort of making something slowly, Northknits blends clean silhouettes with approachable construction and wearable textures. The patterns are designed to feel relaxed, practical, and easy to return to.

What began in South Carolina as a personal creative outlet and a way to slow down through knitting eventually grew into Northknits after moving to Chicago. Self-taught and inspired by neutrals, clean lines, city life, and slow living, northknits patterns are designed to feel approachable for fellow makers to knit and wear. Alongside Northknits, Jewell also founded Our Maker Life in 2016, a platform bringing makers together through irl business networking events.
